Repo: The Genetic Opera

I first heard about this movie in connection with paris Hilton, so I automatically filed it away in my brain under "Big Fucking Joke."

Then I caught the trailer online today, and I thought, hey, this doesn't make me sick... Then I did a bit of research, read a bit about the plot, and I saw one of the main characters is being played by Giles. (That's Anthony Stewart Head for you non-Buffy fans) I'm sold.

In the not-so-distant future when an epidemic of organ failures devastates the planet, scientists gear for a massive organ harvest. A biotech giant comes up with easy organ payment plans, but all financed organs are subject to legal default, including repossession at the hands of repo men.

House was preempted in favor of baseball playoffs. Shit.

I finally saw Transformers last night. OMG. I am a sucker for Optimus Prime. I don't know why, exactly, but as soon as he starts saying something preachy, I tear up. I think it may have something to do with watching the cartoon when I was little. When Optimus died, I wept bitter tears. When he returned, I rejoiced. I think - dare I say it - Optimus holds a special place in my heart, second only to Lord Vader. Darth Vader never brought me to tears, though. I just revel in the evil sithness of it all.

Bumblebee, as usual, was cooler when he didn't talk.

I Love TV.

I am passionate about my shows. It was well established in my home that on Tuesday nights at 8:00, you did not call or drop by or try in any way to garner my attention, as it was Buffy time, and I was not to be disturbed.

Buffy is over now (but lives on as Season Eight in the comics, which I buy faithfully, thank you Joss), and while that particular void remins unfilled, I have found new shows to love.

Heroes, Dexter, Weeds, 30 Rock, House, The Office, nearly all the VH1 reality shows, Scrubs, Days Of Our Lives...

Maybe I would like to discuss my love of these shows in depth. Maybe.

Beautiful Katamari comes out tomorrow. I'ma roll things up with my kid.
