Stand Strong

I just went to see Jet Li's Fearless with my dad. Jet Li is the freakin' man. Seriously. The movie was all deep and stuff, not exactly what i was thinking it would be from the trailer, but it was a good movie. I went to it all bummed out, because they kept saying it was his last martial arts movie, and it is, but it's not the last film he's making and it's not the last film with fight scenes. He sees a difference between action films and films with both fighting and philosophy. Anyway, it was rad and everyone should see it.

All these things I hate (revolve around me)

2:00 on a Saturday. Yawn. Apartment is clean, laundry is churning away (in my admittedly sweet-ass washing machine, I'll never stop loving on it), and I am bored. I don't know what things are like wherever you are, dear reader, but it's cold here. It's the first truly cold day we've had, and the skies are cloudy and grey and it makes you want to huddle on the couch with the shades drawn and nap away the day. I have felt completely uncompelled to do any of my usual Saturday fare - ie. cleaning house, etc. - but I went through the motions anyway. Thus are things tidy, and soon enough I'll be done with the laundry and have to exercise, which I want to do even less than the laundry... but I'll force myself to do that too. Blah. On the bright side, I went and got my hair done this morning. It's cut in what seems to be a reasonably nice style (I am lazy and will not do anything more than blowdry it in the mornings, so it has to be a wash and go sort of thing) and it's the most lovely red-violet shade. The hubby and the hairdresser both said the same thing afterwards. "You look so different!" I'm taking it as intended in a positive manner. Anyway, I think I've said enough, I figured I should post something... as son as something interesting happens I'll come here and gush.

We're not sleeping at the wheel

Brodie is coming home today!! I'm so happy. 2 weeks without my little man is 2 weeks too long. He returns to me a bike-riding, swimming-lesson taking, bass-catching man of the world. I've been told he'll look bigger. God forbid that he actually should be... 7 and 1/2 and already he's up to my collarbone. Yes, I am that short. I am doomed... I need taller heels. His aunt and uncle are bringing him home and staying with us for a few days. Good times should be had by all. I hope the three day weekend treats everyone well. Consume many drinks in honor of your own hard labor, if you do any.
