I walk with phantoms, and leaves are burning at my feet...
Four days off from work! How can I ever go back?
Thanksgiving was good. We joined Jon and Tali along with Bradley and Brett. The turkey was a paradigm of garlic perfection. I moaned a little when I first tasted it. I really like garlic. Luke came down from school Friday and hung out, and we ended up going back to Jon and Tali's and watching A Christmas Story. I was a little concerned, watching him down all those shots of Jack Daniels, but he made it home in one piece. (Peer pressure, Luke! I should have waited until you'd had those shots before I shoved you off the bed. I can't move you... pfft. You took your defeat like a man, though. Good show.)
My former neighbor - who is being evicted, and I'll find out why today because I simply must know - is having a birthday party for her two children today, so we'll stop by there for a while. Other than that, I think I need some time to relax and recuperate. The husband has been sickly and sore of throat for the past week, and joy of joys, it has finally passed on to me. I fear I will get scurvy now because I can't stop eating these damn vitamin c tablets! They're so orangey and delicious... (each with as much vitamin c as four oranges!) I try to resist, I do! Save me from myself.
It snowed yesterday, just a smattering, but enough to stick to the ground and I could not have been happier after looking out my window in the morning and seeing the snow still falling. I've been waiting for what feels like months now, and Mother Nature finally relented and gave me my wish. Top that off with finally getting my hair done after months of procrastination - I am a fetching brunette once more, as I should be - and my four days have been nothing short of lovely. But enough of my meandering prattle. I hope you all enjoyed the holiday as much as I did, and I hope your Christmas is even better.
